Our restaurant building, a traditional town house with portico entrance, provides the ideal sophisticated setting for your meal. The interior is tastefully decorated in a contemporary style with cosy tables for two or a banquet area for larger parties up to 20.
Our Head Chef here at Café le Raj is dedicated to providing a range of delicious dishes cooked from the very best ingredients for your enjoyment. Chef Abdus Salam has gained experience working in a variety of top restaurants and international hotels, including in Bangladesh, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and London (Café Naz) and holds many international award certificates.

Specialities include exquisite seafood, or meat and poultry cooked in the tandoor oven, and delicious sauces. All tastes are catered for, from the lightest, most delicate King Prawn Delight to the more traditional, superb Rogan Josh.
Café le Raj was first established in 1990, in Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire, by Mr Badsha Mia (known to his guests as Alam). Café le Raj in Henley-on-Thames is his second restaurant, opened after the continued success of the original Café le Raj. Mr Badsha Mia started to work in catering in the Karachi Sheraton Hotel in Pakistan, then he moved to his home country of Bangladesh where he worked in various restaurants as a chef. Before long he took an opportunity to join the team at the prestigious Kuwait Sheraton Hotel and eventually he moved to the UK, working as a chef in some of the most well-known and long-established restaurants before deciding to start his own business.
Restaurant Manager Jashim Uddin trained in international hotel management, and worked in many international hotels in Saudi Arabia and London. His professional service and high standards of hospitality will enhance your meal at Café le Raj. All of the staff at Café le Raj are certified trained in food hygiene, health and safety.
